Ludgate's Store and Products This is a mix of photos from the old photo album and a few new ones that we've thrown in. Judy's Day 2007 at Cornell Plantations The theme for 2007 was "TREES" ... every booth including the musical events had something to do with trees. I'll confess; my initial motivation for this was because my son, Bryan and daughter, Megan  were stilt walkers in previous years ... see previous photos (way) below ... (this year Megan was on a uni-cycle). But the parade is such fun and involves so many local folks - I now try to capture images of the whole procession to share each year. Thanks to the  unicycle club members at F.L.O.W. for teaching my kids and Raylene to Uni-cycle (Keith, Robbert, Brendan, Lesley) This photo album has 8 pages of thumbnails for a total of 226 images of the parade Thursday May 31st, 2007. But the parade is such fun and involves so many local folks - I tried to capture images of the whole procession to share again this year in 2005. I hung out at the Ithaca Bakery sponsored "Family Fun Tent" for a bit, waiting for the circus to start getting ready, then wandered over and got some "insider" shots of the performers getting into uniform and rehearsing their routines. This photo album is especially dedicated to the performers who don't have the luxury of taking photos when they are busy putting on a show for the rest of us! -m Stilt Walker Photo Album 2003 I did this for the Stilt Walkers. Many thanks to Dan Klein for taking the time to teach a stilt making and walking workshop at the Dryden Middle School. There are 3 events pictured here (note multiple index pages): First is the Magic Show at the State Theater in April 2003. Second is the 2003 Ithaca Festival parade. Third is the 2003 Ithaca Festival circus event at Stewart Park. Dryden Middle School 2004 Music in the Park I was a chaperone for my son's Middle School Band trip Friday May 14th. Dryden Middle School Symphonic Concert Band and Dryden Middle School Jazz Ensemble took a 3 1/2 hour bus ride (one way!) to compete for musical excellence awards against bands from all over the northeast. The really cool thing is: they won! -- 1st place hands down, in more than one category -- this is phenomenal for what is considered a rural school by some folks. There were about 80 kids on this trip alone; just a portion of the Dryden music program; if there are budget cuts, a lot of kids may never get to experience the camaraderie and pride that is generated by this level of a trip. The kids raised extra money to make this trip possible, but they wouldn't have had the musical training needed to compete successfully if the music program were cut back. Three cheers to Mr. Huyge and Mr. Hansen! If anyone has more digital photos they want to share, give them to Mr. Huyge on  CD-ROM I can post more here. - [M Ludgate]
