Saturday and Sunday we will have our sampling bench filled with ten or twelve different salsas, some new, some familiar for comparison.

The photo is an image of a cocoa pod which I borrowed from the FUNEDESIN web site in Ecuador. We are selling one of their products as a fund raiser for their very worthy projects. They are extremely hard working folks battling with the onslaught of mega cattle ranchers and other forms of corporate agriculture, fighting to find ways to economically sustain their rapidly disappearing rain forest. Please check their web site and come try a free sample of the snack we have at the store made from minimally processed cocoa beans and macadamia nuts.

Also new this past week: Pasture fed meats from local Central New York growers, packaged under the label "Meadow Raised". We have in stock excellent nitrate free, hormone and antibiotic free German Deli style frankfurters. These are the best nitrate free frankfurters I have tasted. They are making chorizos from lamb and beef (we sold out of the first shipment already - more on order). Also ground beef still in stock.

Republic of tea has a wonderful selection of White Teas - we have them all in stock now.

Another new local item - homemade pasta (dried) from a pasta shop & restaurant in Utica.
