| My friend Tina and I are participating in the Team-in-Training Program run by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We have committed to three things: 1. To run the Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska this June in honor of a local leukemia patient; 2. To foster a friendship with a local leukemia or lymphoma patient; and 3. To raise a minimum of $8,800 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Of the money we raise, 25% will go towards overhead costs associated with our participation in the Team-in-Training program, and 75% will go directly to the research and patient support programs sponsored by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society supports research for cures to leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other blood related diseases; professional and public education programs; and patient support programs. Researchers funded by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (which awards over 23 million dollars in research grants annually) have participated in the development of life-saving techniques such as chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation. As part of our fundraising we have organized a local raffle (if you live in Ithaca, buy your raffle tickets at Ludgate Farms, Cayuga Mountain Bike Shop, Borealis Books, Cornell Outdoor Education, or the Purple Lion Cafe in Dryden). You can also check out the raffle on our web site at http://www.ludgatefarms.com/team.html (it has a great pic of me and Tina in Ludgate Farms!). We are also hoping that you will support our efforts by making a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Checks can be mailed to: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Central New York Chapter Learbury Centre 401 N. Salina Street Syracuse, NY 13203 PLEASE NOTE ON THE CHECK THAT YOUR DONATION IS IN SUPPORT OF THE EFFORTS OF TINA JEOH AND BRIELLE ROSA Thank you very much for you support! -Brielle Rosa |
