What to
Expect ...
Your first massage will start with a brief health history and a
conversation about what brings you in for a massage. Then your
therapist will leave the room while you lie down on a comfortable
padded massage table and cover yourself with a sheet. Some types of
body work are done with the client fully clothed; for other types, you
undress to whatever extent you choose. You will be under the sheet
except for the parts of your body being massaged and your privacy is
always respected. Feedback on the massage strokes is requested to make
sure the pressure and nature of the work is right for you. During the
massage you might rest quietly, drift in and out of sleep, or
communicate with the therapist about what you are feeling. After the
massage you might feel sleepy or very peaceful so it is good to leave
some time not to have to hurry off to the day's next event. This is
usually followed by a feeling of increased energy and vitality. You
might realize how much energy is used to maintain our too often
unrecognized levels of daily tension. Most people who have just
received their first massage from a skilled therapist are amazed at how
relaxed and pleasant they feel. I believe we all have a need for
massage and receiving one is as important as getting enough sleep,
enough exercise, and eating a healthful diet!!!

Particularly with the cold weather we’ve had, it was just bliss to have

Footbliss
...
30 minutes devoted to relieving the stress of being on your
feet,
bringing them warmth, soothing pressure, and gentle stretching. Nothing
like it to refresh your whole mood, both relaxing and energizing. Soft
warm towels, uplifting peppermint or lavender oils, lavish attention to
every toe and tendon. You lie on the warmed table and listen to
soothing music while your feet get the works. Great gift for someone
who works on their feet or wants to try massage but is unsure of how to
start. Maybe you would like to learn what a foot massage is like and
take some of this art into your way of caring for others in your life.
Included in the package is a small bottle of massage oil to use for
yourself or others.
Computer
Relief ...
30 minutes of kneading, stretching, and percussion to get the
blood
flowing again in those poor hard-working muscles of your neck,
shoulders, arms and hands. The fine motor skills required for hours of
computer work are very tiring, and massaging those tissues can help
them recover faster. Massage for your neck and shoulders and scalp can
help relieve tension headaches also. I can show you some stretches to
help you alleviate stress before it gets you in those knots, too. The
package includes some stress reducing teas and bath salts.
Warm
Back ...
Imagine a hot water bottle on the small of your back, warm
towels
around your feet and warm hands spreading a little oil onto your aching
tired back, then 30 minutes of attention to your whole back, bit by bit
and long strokes too. Special attention to shoulder blades, low backs
and the tops of your shoulders where tension likes to accumulate. A
toasty warm massage room with soft candle light, soothing music, and
fragrant oils if you like, help make the massage especially relaxing.
Your take home package includes a sweet fragrant candle to soften up
your home space for quiet moments and some relaxing teas.
Remember
Relaxed? ...
This 30 minute massage is a whole body experience so that your
back,
legs and arms, face and feet all get a chance for some kneading, long
strokes, gentle stretches, and just enough pressure to melt away some
of those aching knots. You get to sink into a warmed table, covered
with soft flannel sheets, listen to music or quietness, enjoy soft
candlelight— sometimes the best massage experiences happen when you are
half asleep. Deeply relaxed yet blissfully aware of what the therapist
is doing. I find this to be when I get the most out of massages. You
might not know what your general level of anxiety of feels like and the
toll it is taking until you feel what deep relaxation is like. You also
get a fragrant candle and bath oil in this package.

Care ...
Bring a friend for a 30 minute session where you each get a
chance to
learn how to give and get a basic back massage, foot massage, or neck
and shoulder massage. You will receive a small bottle of massage oil
and a handout of instructions to take home with you. Other Options Your
massage can always be tailored to just what you would like. This can
include attention to areas sore from exercise or repetitive motion, a
