This week we will bring out Salsas and spread them out for a spicy tasting... at Ludgate Farms: all day Sat and Sun. We'll pop open a selection of our favorite salsas from around the USA including such local favorites as Bisco's.  This image shows the new line of salsa's from Stonewall Kitchen .. one of the featured favorites is Mango Lime!


Olive Oil & vinegar tasting ...
Friday, Sat & Sun: Mar 3rd, 4th and 5th 2006 ...

We will again sample a new local vinegar made from 100Cherry Knoll Blueberry Vinegar% pure blueberry juice! This is not a flavored vinegar, this is made in a slow ferment aging process very similar to the way good balsamic viniger is made using a blueberry 'must'. The farm name is Cherry Knoll -- they are in Marathon, NY.,


Also did you see the two new varietals from Israel [ "Israeli Gold" ]? We received these at the start of the holiday season but you may have missed them .. one from
manzanilla olives, this delicious olive oil is fruity and well balanced with a hint of spiciness. The second oil of olives native to the Middle East: the soury olive produces a bolder oil with a nice peppery finish. If you enjoy Middle Eastern cuisine, this oil is a must for your pantry. It is delicious on hummus, other Israeli or Middle Eastern dishes, or anywhere you want a flavorful, spicy oil.


So come on out and see the latest new Olive Oils and join us for an Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar tasting... at Ludgate Farms: extra virgin olive oils at Ludgate'sall weekend. We line up a dozen or so of exotic and ordinary Extra Virgin Olive Oils from all around the globe and sample them with Central New York's Heidelberg Bread. Also -- we usually open a couple bottles of expensive aged balsamic vinegars also. For example at a previous tasting the award winning Villa Manodori organic balsamic vinegar was a big hit.

Saturday April 16th we have a treat: Ann Sullivan from Mare-0-Lin's Sauces will be here personally sampling her Mar-O-Lin Saucesfamily's old fashioned homemade chili sauces. Stop by the store and meet her between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Saturday.

We will also bring out other spreads, dips and sauces from all around the store and the world
and lay them out for a spicy tasting ... this will include hummus and bruschetta spread and other similar condiments like Stonewall Kitchen's 'relishes' and sauces also our local Chutney Fever organic chutneys and New York State's Wild Thymes dipping sauces.
